Rattrap pegged Dinobot squarely between the eyes with a small twinge of satisfaction. The scowling blue face did not flinch or flicker, and his satisfaction quickly ebbed. Sighing, the spy walked across the room to retrieve the dart from the target on which he'd printed Dinobot's image. He would have to make another of those soon, he noted vaguely in the back of his mind. This one was already so pocked with holes that one could hardly make out where the warrior's hooked nose had been.
Of course, noted another part of his mind, home of his seldom-acknowledged sense of personal honesty, if I'm gonna do that, I may as well put my own face on it. I'm only throwin' darts at Chopperface to distract me from kickin' myself in the tailpipe.

The rain had not ceased for days, but tonight it was harder and colder than it ever had been.
Fleas, as a rule, do not like water. We cannot swim. And even knowing that the puddles and lakes that lined the Paris streets were far too small for me to drown in now brought me no comfort. I was soaked through, lost, cold, exhausted, miserable, and utterly alone. The warm lights that shone through the windows of the houses I passed offered me a glimpse at happiness; An old couple reading together, a family eating dinner. I didn't care for any of that.

After finally losing the police, I risked going back to the Cabaret where I'd seen her last. She was sitting with the stout owner I'd seen before, talking softly before walking out into the rain and getting into a carriage. It was dangerous, what I did, but I felt I had no choice.
